Like all the other monsters of the realms, the Reaper Nurses work for their master, Malak, and so are a devout follower of him, claiming that Malak and The Nurses treatment are a sign of willingness to receive 'healing and mercy'. However, the nurses won't hesitate to attack their female patients with hostility should the patient disobey one of the Hospital's rules.
The Nurse's delicateness towards female patients was shown when E was permitted to explore the upper areas as much as she wanted, with the exception of certain areas. Should the recipient decline this offer, however, the nurses remain docile and won't attack the female patient for this response. If the Nurses come to a conclusion that the patient deserves to become one of them (they pointed that out with E), they will approach said patient and offer their promotion, only needing them to go through what they call a 'little initiation ritual'. On certain occasions, the Nurses discuss with each other about whether or not a female visitor would be a good fit for becoming a new nurse recruit. The Nurses could possibly be psychopathic, as they take joy in torturing their victims when performing their 'hospital procedures' and will make the death of their victims slow and painful.Ĭontrast to how the Reaper Nurses treat men, they treat women alike with a much more patient and welcoming demeanor, with the exception of Bierce, treating their patients more delicately with much more care, a form of treatment that E received upon stumbling the hospital and encountering the Nurses. They also happily assist their 'patients' in navigating around the hospital to get their 'clinical treatment', in hopes of their patients accepting what the Nurses call their 'Healing and Mercy', which are actually immediate executions disguised as hospital procedures. Most of the nurses also display a sense of humor and will occasionally joke around.
When first encountering them, the Reaper Nurses display a friendly and welcoming facade, directing their 'patients' to their respective rooms. I could feel in each of them the soul of a woman with a deep & scarring hatred of men. They become fast enough to catch up to speeding ambulances. Once the Nurses go into Nightmare Mode, their clothing turns red and black. This makes them, Penny the Chicken and Trigger Teddies the only standard enemies in Dark Deception to only have a single kill animation, whereas the other enemies generally have around 3 or 4 kill animations in total. Their kill animation only uses a giant syringe, nonetheless. The Reaper Nurses have two weapons: a giant syringe that serves as their main weapon, and a pill. Their most prominent feature is the oversized syringe they wield, which they use to stab their victims. They wear red gloves, and red roller skates resembling heels. Their clothing comprises of a skintight red and white rubber/latex dress, with red buttons on the shirt and the skirt, and white tights on their legs, with black first-aid signs featured on the shoulders and belt. While it is unknown what their faces truly look like, some merchandise of them has shown that they actually wear pink lipstick and appear to have the mouth and chin of a normal human. Like the Matron, the Reaper Nurses wear red combs across the top of their bags. Their faces are visibly obscured by what appears to be a white paper bag with a medical "plus" sign marked on the front, though they are still able to see.
